Dear BS Member
It has been brought to my attention that a questionnaire regarding the Budgerigar Society (BS) club dates was only issued to a select number of Society Members i.e. the ones who attended The Budgerigar Society Club Show 2008.
The reasons given for this matter are not acceptable. Many members who would normally be present at the show may not have been able to attend because of sickness, disability, holidays ect and therefore would be unable to fill in the questionnaire because they could not attend the 2008 BS show. Consequently, a fully paid up member, is not be allowed to express their opinion in this way; is disrespectful and abhorrent to the membership!
Therefore, there would have been many members, who would have wished to give their opinion but were not allowed to do so.
The arbitrary assumption that not enough people filled in the questionnaire “therefore they do not want to change the show date” which is the opinion of one man; is an affront to the BS membership and their intelligence.
It was clearly foreseeable that if all the BS membership did not have the opportunity to express their opinion in the questionnaire that some members would be discriminated against? However, that is what has happened. Therefore, the BS General Council has a duty to issue the questionnaire to every member of the Budgerigar Society as soon as possible.
It is noted that some members who have already expressed their excellent views on this matter in the March /April 2009 Budgerigar Magazine, received a dismissive response from the BS.
BS means Budgerigar Society, which is the whole membership. Therefore, it is vague and not clear who is responding to the letters in the Budgerigar? If it is the response of the whole General Council it should say so, if it is the Chairman/Editor it should say so, if it is the Secretary it should say so. However the secretary is a servant or employee of the Budgerigar Society and does not have the power, and should not make executive decisions!
It is not relevant that all BS members do not or did not attend the BS show. But it is relevant that they are fully paid up members of the Budgerigar Society, and therefore have a legitimate right to be consulted on all issues on an equal basis. It is time for these arbitrary and discriminatory decisions to stop!
Please email and forward this letter to any Budgerigar Society Members or post it on your website.
Thank you
Ray Fox

Hi Errin,
You have started a great hobby at such a young age and have also bred some exceptionally good budgies too. I am Raj from India and i would like to know the price of your birds and please give me a reasonable and competitive price, as you know that converting GBP in to Indian Rupees cost us a lot of money. In future if i am taking birds from UK, you will be my choice. Please write to udhay_jayaraj@hotmail.com. Thank you.
